Rum begins with molasses and a hot, boozy lift, and the heart becomes a café counter: roasted coffee, hazelnut with its papery skin, and caramel scorched to bitterness. Tonka closes it with coumarin's hay and a nutty sweetness that echoes the hazelnut.
